Date Night (...day): The 3D Range

Brianne's given me the bug. The first words I ever spoke to her had to do with the arrows I'd seen her carry in her backpack to class every day, and that Saturday I found myself standing next to her on our first date holding a compound bow for the first time. I'd wanted to shoot with her at a 3D range for a long time and we finally made it happen, the one she works at 4 days a week and gets us in for free.

And now I want to buy my own bow.

Look at her: the poise,

the concentration,

The skill! Look what an amazing shot my wife is! She has a reputation among all my colleagues here. She's legendary. Once, when three huge bulldogs came running for me and my boss while we were knocking doors, he turned to me and said "All of a sudden we'll see this arrow fly past us and we'll look and see Brianne up in a tree. Don't worry bro, she's got your back!"

I gotta say though, as good as she shoots, just wait and see how I did! Wait for it...

...here it comes...

:D

I shot that, yeah. One of a few kill shots for me that day, actually. (...usually on the third try after hitting near the prey's feet or over its back or bouncing an arrow off its rump. So as long as they're always lying down like this or willing to wait long enough to give me a few shots, I'll definitely bring home the bacon, or deer meat as it were. Unless I am boar hunting, in which case the metaphor can be taken literally.)

Not bad Brianne, but note the blue beauty lodged in the beast's neck. He's not walking away from that.

It was so great to get out and shoot, you can see how green and secluded it is out there. We had just enough time after this to try out a couple bows at the shop and get me hungry for one that fits me, and made it just in time to our company dinner at Jim N' Nick's BBQ, courtesy of Sage Pest Control for our office reaching the week's dinner incentive in accounts sold. We work pretty hard during the week but we can count on Saturdays being just awesome!
